As an Athletic Training Student, I feel there are many challenges we go through. Time management is probably the most obvious challenge to everyone. The amount of hours we have to put in for clinical is more time than most students are willing to give up. I struggled with this aspect this past semester in the program the most. Playing football here and traveling really put me in a bind to complete my hours. Another challenge people don’t know about is the classes we have to take on top of all the other classes Emory makes us take. When I explained how my major works to my old teammates here they were shocked that I even came to play my junior year. It has been pretty hard to overcome some of the challenges I have faced here, but I always get through it. The best way to deal with all the stress that comes from this is to sit back and do one thing at a time. Whenever I get loaded down with school I try not to think about all of my classes or the homework I have to do, and just think about what I’m doing that moment. Taking it one thing at a time is very simple and I can work with that. I’m not too sure what exactly support I would need if I did need support. Whenever I feel overwhelmed I just talk to my parents or my close friends for advice. . I feel like I have the support I need from family and friends. For this past week I got 2 attempts and no masteries. The only reason why is because we haven’t started going over the material we need to know from our clinical packet. I am going to start working the part of the packet that we can do for now this week.
